CARBON PAPER

"Remember Pearl Harbor" Carbon paper. Today if we want several copies of a document we just select "5" when printing from Microsoft Word. But back in the day when you wanted more than one copy of a letter you had to put carbon paper between the sheets of typewriter paper. As the keys from the typewriter hit the top sheet, the impact would transfer to sheet 2. Want three copies? Put another sheet of carbon paper and typerwriter paper in and bang away!

Print this PDF and trim to 17' x 13 " and fold in half. It holds 25 sheets of heavy duty carbon paper. Lighter carbon paper was used to make the earlier copies with the heavier duty version reserved for the fifth or later copies. That's a lot of paper to run through a typewriter--most documents just required triplicates.
